When She Worked with Blind Man Ten Years Ago

In the short story 'Cathedral' by Raymond Carver, the narrator's wife first came to know about Robert when she had begun to work with this blind man one summer in Seattle ten years ago. What kinds of stereotypes have you heard about different people?
Svetlanka [38]

Stereotypes such as..

Men are strong and do all the work.

Men are the "backbone."

Women aren't as smart as a man.

Women can't do as good of a job as a man.

Girls are not good at sports.

Guys are messy and unclean.

Men who spend too much time on the computer or read are geeks.

For women

Goths wear black clothes, black makeup, are depressed and hated by society.

Punks wear mohawks, spikes, chains, are a menace to society and are always getting in trouble.

All politicians are philanders and think only of personal gain and benefit.

Girls are only concerned about physical appearance.

All blonds are unintelligent.

All librarians are women who are old, wear glasses, tie a high bun, and have a perpetual frown on their face.

All teenagers are rebels.

All children don't enjoy healthy food.

Only anorexic women can become models.

The elderly have health issues and behave like children.

HELP MEH PLEASE ILL GIVE BRAINEST Create your dream life. Describe it in detail.
wlad13 [49]
A “dream life” is subjective to many people. While idealistically in America’s eye a dream life would likely be wealth, being extremely successful, perhaps famous, etc. But for a minority like me who is gay, I’d love for there to be a world where there wouldn’t have to be a “coming out” style and not simply expecting the default to be heterosexual. If the human race had been more open-minded and accepting progression would go as far as working together to solve things without divisibility or worrying about being disowned or if it caters towards your families beliefs. That is what a dream life is to me.
