Who was to blame for the sinking of the battleship maine?

History

While the perpetrator still remains unknown, the US blamed Spain for the explosion, as relations between the two countries were strained over how Spain was mistreating it's colonies in Cuba. This led to the Spanish-American War, which was a US victory that led to the takeover of the Philippines and Cuba from Spain.

Choose EITHER Judaism OR Hinduism and describe its origin, major principles, and how it affected existing laws, social practices
Karolina [17]
So I choose Hinduism
Origin: India where it comprises several and varied systems of philosophy, belief, and ritual
Major Principals: That All human beings are divine and should be treated as such.Respect other religions and have Religious harmony. Have a unity of existence through love Most Hindus should have the Knowledge of 3 Gs: Ganga (sacred rivers), Gita (sacred script), Gayatri (sacred mantra).God is everywhere and is called om. God is in the form of several other gods. The Holy Trinity is extremely important and is the basis for all cultures: Brahma, Vishnu, Maheshwara (Shiva).
Effects: Hindu ideas about karma and reincarnation helped the caste system. If a person was born as an upper-caste a Brahmin, warrior/merchant-his good fortune was said to come from good karma earned in a former life. However, a person who was born as a female, a laborer/ untouchable might be getting the results of bad deeds in a former life and was treated badly. Earlier many believed that only men (upper-class) could attain Moksha (which is eternal bliss) Because of these many laws which barred untouchables from entering religious sites and forcing them to work in shabby huts and earn less were created. Many Hindus celebrate special festivals such as Holi which have a religious meaning. One culture was that females who wanted good lives for the husbands fasted for their long life. Hinduism did influence Buddhism (which also was created in India) and many parts of Arabic and Hindu culture were fused after the Mughal occupation of India. Thankfully in the 1900's the caste system was eradicated for being unjust but it had caused many damages for thousands of poor people. Hindus are known for not eating certain types of meat on certain days. Hindus (most of them) do not touch beef because cows are sacred. Most Hindus are vegetarians although the few that aren't are strict on what days they can eat meat and what days have religious importance. (so they don't eat meat) Hope this helps!

India will fall back quite rapidly through the centuries into the barbarism and privations of the Middle Ages. Winston Churchill
Ivan

Answer: India would not be able to govern itself in the modern world without the British.

Explanation:

The British ruled India for the better part of a century and during that time, India was their most populated and important colony and they made sure to rule it as actively as they could which is why when the Indians began demanding independence, there were some that did not approve.

Winston Churchill was one of those. He believed that if the British were to stop governing India, it would go back to a state of barbarism and anarchy. The British people who thought like him therefore believed that British rule in India was necessary for it to remain stable as India could not govern itself.
