Find the slope of the line through each pair of points. (11, 1) (-7, 18)
Sonbull [250]

\bf (\stackrel{x_1}{11}~,~\stackrel{y_1}{1})\qquad (\stackrel{x_2}{-7}~,~\stackrel{y_2}{18}) \\\\\\ slope = m\implies \cfrac{\stackrel{rise}{ y_2- y_1}}{\stackrel{run}{ x_2- x_1}}\implies \cfrac{18-1}{-7-11}\implies \cfrac{17}{-18}

Determine the nature of the roots:
malfutka [58]

Answer:

A.  2 distinct roots.

Step-by-step explanation:

2x^2 + 8x + 3 = 0

Finding the discriminant:

b^2 - 4ac = 8^2 - 4 * 2 * 3

=  64 - 24

= 40

The discriminant is positive but not a perfect square

So there are 2 distinct ,real, irrational roots.
