     His point of view is his own communicating to the audience on the future of america in the aspect concerning slavery.

     Basically the whole thing is showing his point of view by showing the single, simple word "I". As this word processes threw his speech, you know that this is his opinion that people agree with and his tributes to the problem.

     The quoted section shows how he feels and his opinion on the subject, considering that he is the one who is giving the speech.

     This historical event is called House Divided Speech, and it his one of Lincoln's famous speeches concerning slavery.
