Seriation is a method of relative dating in that collections or artifacts from various sites, in the corresponding culture, are arranged in a sequential method. Archaeologists employ this method to date archaeological discoveries and articles. It is a conventional means of dating in archaeology. This method may be employed to date pottery fragments, stone tools, and other artifacts.
