a) Volume (V) of a cube = side (x)³ → V = x³ → 1728 = x³ → 12 in = x

b) Area (A) = x² → A = (12)² → A = 144 in²

c) Surface Area (SA) of a cube = 6A → SA = 6(144) → SA = 864 in²

d) 864 in² · (\frac{1 ft}{12 in})² = \frac{864}{144} = 6 ft²

According to the remainder theorem, what is one factor of the cubic expression x³+3x²+x-5?
Gnom [1K]

Answer:

x - 1

Step-by-step explanation:

To get one factor of the cubic expression x³+3x²+x-5 according to the remainder theorem we can say that

x³+3x²+x-5 = 0

Then we apply Ruffini's Rule and obtain

x³+3x²+x-5 = (x-1)(x²+4x+5)

where x = 1 is the only real root of the polynomial expression.

When two equal forces are inclined at an angle 2a their resultant is twice as great as
swat32

Step-by-step answer:

Referring to the attached diagram, the resultant of two forces each with magnitude F and inclined to each other at 2a equals

Ra = 2Fcos(a) ..............................(1)

Similarly, the resultant of two forces each with magnitude F and inclined to each other at 2b equals

Rb = 2Fcos(b)..............................(2)

We are given that

Ra = 2Rb  ....................................(3)

Substitute (1) & (2) in (3) gives

2Fcos(a) = 2(2Fcos(b))

Expand

2Fcos(a) = 4Fcos(b)

Simplify

cos(a) = 2 cos(b)   QED

A marker bought for Rs 50 was sale at a profit of 5%. find the selling price.
ivanzaharov [21]

Answer:

The selling price would be Rs 52.5

Step-by-step explanation:

Rs 50 is the actual cost and the 5% profit will amount to Rs 2.5 (50*5%) so total total sales price would be Rs 52.5( Rs 50 + Rs 2.5)

Another way to calculate is (Rs 50 * 1.05) = 52.5
