Answer: In the short story "Marigolds" Lizabeth tells the story with flashbacks as she now understands now that she is older that the decisions she made were not the best.

Explanation: In "Marigolds" Lizabeth was at a strange age as she was a child and a woman at the same time. Her destroying the marigolds was her last tantrum as a child. After that, she understood what she did was wrong, she could now see humanity in Miss Lottie. She could identifiy with Miss Lottie as an adult as she could not do before. In the story, Lizabeth shows that her actions were wrong and that she now understands. She is now different because of the experiences she had. Life is not always beautiful but you could always plant some Marigolds to give a little beauty to an otherwise sad existence.

The verb phrase that should fit there should be something like "will be shaking" because that is a phrase used to show that the person will be scared during the ghost tour, while also hoping not to see any real ghosts.
