The Treaty of Paris marked the end of the Spanish-American War.

Further Explanation:-

The Spanish-American war was an armed war between Spain and the United States and this war took place in the year 1898. The main reason for this war was related to Cuban Independence. Revolts were taking place from last any years from Cubans against Spanish rule and after some time these revolts got backing of the United States and this led to the Spanish-American War. This war lasted for a period of ten weeks and was fought in the Caribbean and Pacific. Everyone was well aware that if the US navy entered the war, it would prove to be decisive with respect to a result of the war. After the Naval forces of the United States joined the war, Madrid called back its most modern fleet back to guard Spanish borders after two of their naval ships were shot down by the US navy. The Treaty of Paris came out as the solution to the war and many negotiations were done which eventually favoredthe United States as they got Control over Cuba temporarily and got full ownership of Puerto Rico and Guam along with Philippine Island. This defeat was considered a big loss for Spain as this started a revolution in Spanish society against the government which was known as Generation of 98.

loris [4]

Answer:

The Colonists wanted independence from Great Britain because the king created unreasonable taxes, those taxes were created because Britain just fought the French and Indians. England decided that since they fought on American soil, then it was only fair to make Colonists pay for it.

What event showed the U.S that the Articles of Confederation were not good?
guajiro [1.7K]

Shay's Rebellion

Explanation:

The Articles of Confederation was the first constitution for the United States. It is known for being very weak and giving little to no power to the national government. With the Articles of Confederation, the government could not regulate trade, draft soldiers, create and enforce laws properly, tax citizens, and other important matters.

Since the national government was so powerless, most of the power was in the hands of the people and the states. This meant that it was hard to keep people in check, which eventually caused Shay's Rebellion.

Shay's Rebellion was an uprise of farmers who did not want to lose their property and opposed high taxing. Courts were trying to take away their property, as many poor farmers could not pay their taxes. This caused many farmers to revolt, causing a few casualties. This proved the national government was too weak under the Articles of Confederation, as they could do nothing to stop this.
