Answer: Hypertension is known as a “silent killer” because it does not show early symptoms to alert patients of the elevated pressure.

Explanation:

Hypertension also known as high blood pressure is a condition in which the force of the blood against the artery walls is too high. The risk of serious problems such as stroke, congestive heart failure, heart attack and kidney failure increases in patients when it does not show symptoms in patients.

Why is hypertension known as a “silent killer”?
It’s silent because you may not realize it’s stalking you. Most often it does not have symptoms.
Despite the lack of symptoms, hypertension is deadly.  This is how it got its macabre nickname: "The Silent Killer."
