Which sentence uses a superlative adjective correctly?

English
2 answers:

The answer is 1: That is the best chocolate cake I have ever tasted.

A superlative adjective expresses the greatest amount or degree that a given descriptor can sustain. It usually is differentiated from a comparative adjective which only expresses a relative degree of a descriptor between two or more things. A superlative is then an absolute entity that expresses the greatest possible quality. In the answer above, the chocolate cake is the BEST cake, meaning there is no better cake.

The first sentence uses a superlative adjective because “best” is the superlative degree when using these adjectives.

To show difference; point out how things are different is to: a describe b summarize c compare d contrast
padilas [110]

Answer:

The answer is contrast (Option D)

Explanation:

Contrast is the act of comparing two things or two people in order to show or determine the differences between them. In other words, contrast is the difference between two things or two people when they are compared.

"Contrast" is very different from "compare." As such, both words should not be used interchangeably because compare simply means to show or determine similarity while contrast serves the purpose of obtaining difference.
