Some sentences are "We had passed through long walls of piled skeletons, with casks and puncheons intermingling, into the inmost recesses of the catacombs."
This sentence speaks of the dead bodies or what is left of them. Another sentence is "We are below the river's bed. The drops of moisture trickle among the bones." This sentence describes the eerie setting. We also red about the grossness of the drunk fool. This adds to the unknowingly fact that it is dark, and eerie, and something will happen. Hope this helped.
