The Glen Canyon Dam was formed over Lake Powell (option d), on the Colorado River, in Arizona. This lake was create by the Dam, through flooding of the Canyon that was there before.
The Glen Canyon is an area for recreation and preservation that belongs to the National Park Sevice (Institution in charge of the National parks in the US) covering around 5076 kilometers in Utah and Arizona. Additionally, in 1956 a concrete dam was constructed in the Glen Canyon and the construction of this dam formed Lake Powell which is connected to the Canyon and considered as a reservoir of the Colorado River, this occurred as the main function of dams is to restrict or allow the flow of water in certain areas and in this case this dam formed a separated body of water that became the Lake Powell, that was named in this way after John Wesley Powell who was the leader of the first expedition to explore the Great Canyon which is another canyon of Colorado River. Thus, the construction of the Glen Canyon Dam formed a body of water which was the Lake Powell.
