Cheryl purchased 5 identical hollow pine doors and 6 identical solid oak doors for the house she is building. The regular price
almond37 [142]

Answer:

The answer to this question is option C. $560

Explanation:

We can let the price of each hollow pine door = d and of each solid oak door = 2d.

Since each pine door = 40, d = 40, and the regular price of each solid oak door is (2)(4) = 80.

With a 25% discount, each solid oak door is 0.75(80) = 60.

So, the six oak doors cost 6 x 60 = 360 dollars, and the five pine doors cost 5 x 40 = 200 dollars. Thus, the total is 560 dollars.

Hence the answer is C

Marsha’s Pet Store employs six employees. Their duties are to sell pets, replenish the stock, keep the pets’ cages clean, feed t
Gemiola [76]

Answer: True.

Explanation:

People sometimes have a tendency of doing only what they are told to do or only what they are paid for. This is why most people who progress in a company do so on the basis of having done work that was not in their description, but would have helped the company progress.

It would appear that Marsha's 6 employees are all of the caliber of employees who just do what they are told and nothing more.

For this reason therefore, she would include a stipulation changing the scheme to include careful performance of the other duties before any sales commission can be earned. This way they'll start to do those other things since they are now paid to do so.

Which of the following are characteristics of a perpetuity?
QveST [7]

Answer:

B. The value of a perpetuity is equal to the sum of the present value of its expected future cash flows.

C. The current value of a perpetuity is based more on the discounted value of its nearer (in time) cash flows and less by the discounted value of its more distant (in the future) cash flows.

Explanation:

A Perpetuity is a financial instrument that pays the holder forever or in perpetuity. For example, a bank paying you $800 per year for ever because you invested $40,000.

There are certain characteristics

Option B

The Perpetuity like most financial Securities has its value based on the underlying cashflows that it can accumulate. This means that it's value is based on the present value of it's future cashflow so the other the cash payments, the higher the present value.

Option C.

As the discounted cashflows in the nearer future will be discounted less by the discount rate as opposed to the cash flows further in future, the cashflows nearer to the present in time will contribute more to the Perpetuity than the cashflows further in time.

For example using that first example, $800 per year at a rate of 5% will be discounted to $762 in the first year but in year 10 will be discounted to $491.
