It led to Japanese expansion into China--during the 1930s, Japan expanded their territory into mineral rich areas of Manchuria and then continued to invade China. 

The goal of this expansion was to become a dominant world power as well as secure markets and resources the small island nation needed to become an industrial power.

Four Freedom Speech was the the 1941 State of the Union address.  In the speech he proposed that people around the world must have four fundamental freedoms, The freedom of speech, Worship, freedom from want and fear.  

This speech was delivered 11 months before the Pearl Harbour attack. The speech was about the national security of US and the threat that the democracies around the world faced from the word wars. F.D. R talked about the role of US in helping allies instead of following the policy of non-interventionism.
