Drag each label to the correct category. match the quotes with the literary devices they use. "o miserable abundance, o beggarly
valentinak56 [21]

Oxymoron:

1: O miserable abundance, O beggarly riches!

Paradoxes:

2: What a pity that youth must be wasted on the young.

3: I can resist anything but temptation.

4: How is it possible to have a civil war?

What is an oxymoron?

It is a figure of speech in which two seemingly incompatible terms are used together.

e.g Fully empty, living death, O loving hate.

Only "O miserable abundance, O beggarly riches!" fits the definition of an oxymoron, according to this definition.

What are paradoxes?

It is akin to an oxymoron, except it usually involves a series of logically incongruous claims that, depending on the circumstances, may or may not be true.

e.g "Everything I say is a lie", Barber "A male barber only shaves the males who don't shave. Everything I say is a lie. Does he shave?"

As we can see, there are just assertions that might contradict one another rather than phrases or words that are contradictory.

What is the central message from the 2004 Bush campaign ad? Why is it so effective?
dlinn [17]
One of the most effective and consistent strategies of the 2004 George W. Bush campaign was the description of John Kerry as a "flip-flopper" who had changed his views for political gain. This line of attack put Kerry in stark contrast to Bush, a man who, his campaign insisted, held firm to his beliefs. This video of John Kerry windsurfing on Nantucket was particularly damaging as it provided a perfect visual metaphor for that plot and also played on the notion that Kerry is an East Coast elitist.

Yanka [14]

The Anglo-Spanish war (1585-1604) was a periodic dispute between the kingdoms of Spain and England. This fight had several causes, such as economic and religious dispute between the two kingdoms, and also this conflict derived from the open-ended Dutch war of Independence.

As a result of a religious dissatisfaction, the king of Spain, Philip vowed to invade England. And on 28 May 1588, the Spanish Armada sailed to fight against the enemy kingdom. The result could not be worst. The English used a set of different strategies fireships to break the Spanish formation and force them to sail northward in more dangerous stormy waters. As they sailed back, they suffered severe damage, contributing to a totally different outcome king Philip have planned.

In conclusion, The Spanish sent the fleet of ships known as the Armada to invade England, but the English defeated the Armada and ended Spain`s dominance of the seas, letter D.
