From my point of view they completed each other behavior, John is a big child who sometimes acts without thinking on the results of it; but observing Robin he can undestand things better, think more and try to be more resonsable.

On the other hand Robin starts enjoyng more his life like Jonh loves doing, Robin seems too much serious and responsable but wen he starts observing his friend, he sees he´s happier and has a better relation ith his life and that is what he learns.
