Which was a cause of the breaking off of the eastern half of the Roman Empire?

The main reason why the ancient rome has fallen, is because the roman empire was split into the eastern and the western roman empire ruled by a separate ceasar (emperor) that cause the fall of rome. The eastern half become the byzantine empire while the western half remained loyal to the motherland.
