El planteamiento de preguntas es un paso fundamental en toda área de la Ciencia, ya que permite a los investigadores explicar fenomenos que permanecen desconocidos o no entendidos/explicados en su totalidad.

Para formular una pregunta científica, esta debe de poseer varias características, por ejemplo:

  • Que sea comprobable: En la ciencia, una pregunta debe poder responderse a traves de metodología científica, es decir, se pueden obtener resultados que proveraán evidencia e información importante para explicar dicho fenómeno.
  • Que sea específica: Una pregunta científica no puede ser muy general, al contrario, debe ser específica y dirigida al fenómeno que sea desea explicar. Por ejemplo, <em>¿como afecta la contaminacion acustica (tipo de contaminacion específica) a los narvales (especie específica)?</em>
