K. Which stage does the following occur
dangina [55]

The stages of the cell division at which each process occur would be as follows:

  • Chromatin condenses into chromosomes - prophase
  • chromosomes align in the center of the cell - metaphase
  • The longest part of the cell cycle - interphase
  • the nuclear envelope breaks - prophase
  • the cell is cleaved into two new daughter cells - cytokinesis
  • daughter chromosomes arrive at the poles - telophase

The cell cycle is characterized by two major events:

  1. The interphase
  2. The m phase

The cell prepares itself at the interphase by growing and increasing in volume, synthesizing DNA and proteins. Thus, the interphase takes a large chunk of the entire cycle.

The m phase represents mitosis. It is characterized by the following phases:

  • Prophase: nuclear envelope dissolves, chromatin condenses to become chromosomes
  • metaphase: chromosomes align at the center of the cell. Each chromosome gets engaged by spindles
  • anaphase: chromosomes are pulled apart by spindles. Sister chromatids start moving to opposite poles
  • telophase: migration to the pole is completed by chromatids

Once the chromatids reach poles, they decondense and a nuclear envelope emerges to surround them. The cytoplasm then divides to give rise to 2 daughter cells in a process known as cytokinesis.

Viefleur [7K]

Answer:

The structures that helps the plant ensure that it’s pollen is moved to other plants of the same species and that sexual reproduction will happen is the bright colored petals and sterility of carpel.

Bright colors of petals attracts the insects like bees, which helps the plant to transfer its pollen to other flower of the same species. In some plants, pollen matures earlier than its own stigma so the pollen transfer to other flowers.

Place the following statements in order showing the sea floor spreading process.
Alex Ar [27]

Answer:

1- Two tectonic plates separate as they are pulled apart by convection in the mantle.

2- Molten material from the mantle rises up towards the surface due to convection and fills in the rift.

3- New oceanic crust is formed.

4- The crust slowly moves away from the ridge equally on either side.

5- Overtime, the creation of oceanic crust will cause continents to move.

Explanation:

Oceanic plates get separated and the spaces left among them are filled with magma coming from the mantle. When the magma reaches the surface, it suffers physical and chemical changes at the moment it gets in touch with the cold ocean water. The magma temperature descends and turns into a new oceanic crust.  Plates keep separating from each other, and the new oceanic crust moves forward each side of the crest making a place for the ascension of new fluid hot material from the mantle. This constant process is what makes the continents eventually get separated each time  more.
