It really depends on what two sentences you’re writing. If you’re writing two sentences that are in contrast, you would use “however,” but if the sentences are linked together, you would use “because.” “Immediately” isn’t a common transitional device, and you would generally use “in addition” for connection between two sentences, rather than merging them into one. The best answers would be either A or B, but since we don’t have the sentences, I can’t help you there.

Setler [38]

Answer:

Bird watching is one of the fastest growing forms of outdoor recreation in the country. Each year

millions of people discover for the first time the joys of bird watching. It’s easy to understand why. Birds are

fun to watch. And you can watch them just about everywhere. The most convenient place to start is right in

your own backyard. All it takes to get their attention is food or water, a place to build a nest, and appropriate

vegetation.

Burka [1]

This thesis statement is an effective comparison\contrast statement because:

It mentions the two objects of comparison; A Jury of Her Peers and The Lamb of the Slaughter.

It explains what things are alike in both texts; use of symbolism, point of view and characterization to explore the stereotypical roles of women in the early twentieth century.

It includes what the author would like for the reader to understand about the topic, which in this case is the stereotypical roles of women in the early twentieth century.
