I agree with Lowell’s analysis, which is that New England is not the same as the old one he used to know. I agree because in the poem he recites, “Mr. Frost’s is not the kindly New England of Whittier, not the humorous and sensible one of Lowell...where a civilization is decaying to give place to another and very different one.”

Read the following sentence: The wind blows through the trees. Which revision below uses a metaphor? The wind is a fan blowing l
jonny [76]

Answer:

The wind is a fan blowing leaves everywhere.

Explanation:

First of all, it is important to understand what a metaphor is. A metaphor is a figure of speech that is used to compare two things that, though they may not be alike, but they have something in common or behave the same way or they have similar traits/characteristics. The wind blows through the trees is likened to a fan that blows things around. They are not alike, but they both use air to move things around or blow things in different directions.

Why does edgar allan poe repeat the line "of the bells, bells, bells" in the poem "the bells"
Digiron [165]

Answer:

Written at the end of Poe's life, this incantatory poem examines bell sounds as symbols of four milestones of human experience—childhood, youth, maturity, and death. “The Bells” is composed of four stanzas of increasing length and is a showcase of onomatopoeia, alliteration, repetition, and assonance. He also uses these bells as a use of alliteration in the poem.
