Answer: selective permeability.

The cell is said to be selectively permeable

Explanation:the cell membrane is the membrane that covers the living portion of the cell.the is the boundary between the cell and it's extracellular environment.

The cell membrane contains lipids ,proteins and carbonhydrate.the lipids forms a bilayer in which proteins are embedded.the bilayer allows some materials to move through the cell membrane more easily than others.thus the cell is said to be selectively permeable.

Small molecules such as oxygen gas, nitrogen gas ,which can dissolve in the lipids, can easily pass through.uncharged molecules can also pass through eg carbon dioxide.

Large polar molecules eg glucose, amino acids etc.can not easily pass through and they may need to be carried by transport proteins

Pepsin, a digestive enzyme that degrades proteins in the stomach, is synthesized as pepsinogen and converted to active pepsin in
kipiarov [429]

Digestive enzymes help to break down food in its simplest form. Pepsin is a digestive enzyme which leads to the degradation of proteins in the stomach. It is produced as pepsinogen and converted to active pepsin in the stomach by the removal of several amino acids.

<h3>What is pepsin?</h3>

Pepsin is a digestive enzyme which is present mainly in the gastric juice in stomach and helps to breakdown protein into peptides.

This pepsin is present in the stomach in the form of inactive pepsinogen. This pepsinogen gets active in the stomach by the action of hydrochloric acid.

Pepsinogen gets active and forms pepsin.

Thus, it can be concluded that the digestive enzyme pepsin degrades protein in stomach and is synthesized as pepsinogen and gets converted into active pepsin in stomach by removal of several amino acids.

Explain the function of the thyroid gland and the hormones it secretes. Include how the release of hormone is regulated and what
elena55 [62]
The thyroid gland releases triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4). These hormones play an important role in regulation of your weight, energy levels, internal temperature, skin, hair, nail growth, and more. Thyroxine (T4) is produced by the thyroid gland under regulation from the hypothalamus and pituitary gland. T3 is a second thyroid hormone that is produced by the thyroid gland but also in other tissues through deiodination of T4. T3 helps maintain muscle control, brain function and development, and heart and digestive functions.
