which of the following Is not a cell activity powered by energy produced through cellular respiration? 1. Division 2. Growth 3.
harina [27]

The activity of the cell that is not powered by the energy  produced through cellular respiration is passive transport.

The cell is the smallest unit of an organism. A cell is self sufficient. Cells obtain energy for their activities via cellular respiration. This is the breakdown of glucose to produce energy.

Passive transport is the movement of solute across the cell membrane without requiring energy for the process. Therefore, it does not require energy produced during cellular respiration.

Distinguish the characteristics that define each of the five kingdoms. If you discover a new species what characteristics does t
Julli [10]

The characteristics that distinguish each of the five kingdoms can range from the number of cells and their structure to the way the organism moves.

The five kingdoms of classification are as follows:

  1. Protist
  2. Animalia
  3. Monera
  4. Plantae
  5. Fungi

Protists are known to be single-celled organisms. They often have specialized appendages for movements, such as cilia or flagella, and lack the presence of a cell wall. Protists do in fact have some organelle and can be capable of photosynthesis.

Animalia refers to the animal kingdom. They are multicellular, can move through muscular systems, and get their nutrients through ingesting food. They do not have chloroplasts or cell walls.

Monera is the smallest of the 5 kingdoms, they are single-celled organisms, often lack any organelle, and may not have the ability to move.

Fungi can be of various sizes, do in fact possess cell walls, but have no chloroplast for photosynthesis. Instead, they use absorption to feed. Fungi lack the ability to move.

Finally, the Plantae kingdom is as the name suggests, the kingdom that includes all plants. These are multicellular, cannot move and get their nutrients through the use of photosynthesis.
