Look at the problem and work shown. In which line was an error made and what should have been done differently? Six less than 4

times a number is 50. What is the number? 6 – 4n = 50 (line 1) 6 – 6 – 4n = 50 – 6 (line 2) –4n = 44 (line 3) –4n÷ –4 = 44÷ –4 (line 4) n = –11 (line 5)

"Six less"=-6

"four times a number"=4n

"is 50"= =50

4n-6=50 add 6 to both sides

4n=56  divide both sides by 4

n=14

So, wrong on very first line...line one should have been: 4n-6=50

A₁ = 9
a₂ = 9+2  → a₂ = a₁ + 2. Since it's an AP, d, the common difference is 2

1) Then the recursive formula is :
a(n) = a(n-1) + 2

2) Explicit formula:
It's an AP, with first term a₁, d= common difference and n = number of term, which is the number of rows in this problem.
the value of the nth term is given by the formula is:
value of nth term  = a₁ + (n-1).d

3) Number of seats in the 12th row:

9 + (12-1).2 = 31 seats

koban [17]

For #6;

We know that there are 46% male students and 30% of them are seniors. This means that we have to assume that 30% of the male students are seniors and that 30% of the female students are seniors. Taking 30% of 46% gives us 13.8%.

For #7;

We are looking for the possibility that we choose a junior student (22%) or a sophomore student (28%). This adds up to 50% (22%+28% = 50%). That is out answer.

A TV show has 26 episodes. Due to the lack of time, you can onlywatch 5 of them. However, in order to get a gist of what the sho
USPshnik [31]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Recall that: The number of combination to select any k consecutive element from n consecutive term is given by the equation ^{n-k+1}C_k

= \begin {pmatrix} ^{n-k+1}_{k} \end {pmatrix}

where:

n = 26

k = 5

^{n-k+1}C_k= \begin {pmatrix} ^{26-5+1}_{5} \end {pmatrix}

^{n-k+1}C_k= \begin {pmatrix} ^{22}_{5} \end {pmatrix}

^{n-k+1}C_k= \dfrac{22!}{5!(22-5)!}

^{n-k+1}C_k= \dfrac{22!}{5!(17)!}

\mathbf{^{n-k+1}C_k=26334}

Therefore, there are 26334 selection of 5 episodes with no two consecutive episodes chosen
