What is technology and why is it one of the basic components of all cultures
Lisa [10]

Technology is the collection of knowledge, skills, methods, and processes used in the production of goods and/or services to assist in daily living.

It is one of the basic units of all cultures and civilization through the use of tools to promote success in daily living areas such as: agriculture, irrigation, plumbing, transportation, infrastructure, mathematics, sciences, etc. Success in the aforementioned areas greatly increases the chances of a society's enduring and power socially, politically, and economically.

For an example, if one has the ability to irrigate agriculture and produce mass amounts of food to feed a society, trade (or maybe even conquering) can occur with a civilization that may not have the ability to produce in great volumes.
