Answer:

In the 16th century, the Catholic Church had a practice of selling indulgences. An indulgence was a payment to the church that paid for you to be exempted from certain sins. Sometimes they could pay for a loved one to spend less time in purgatory. Luthers thesis 82 was aimed at the Pope, asking why the Pope doesnt deliver ALL souls at the same time out of purgatory to relieve their misery. Is he only saving a few souls at a time so that he can get more money for the Catholic Church, thus exposing evil practices of the Catholic Church at that time.

mart [117]
In 1933, Congress repealed Prohibition with the twenty-first amendment (D). This happened on December 5th and alcohol was officially legal on December 15th. It is the only amendment to have been ratifying state conventions, all other amendments have been ratified by state legislatures. Although alcohol only became legal on December 15th, people started drinking openly before this date.

How did cotton production reinforce the class division between rich and poor whites
svp [43]

Answer:

See explanation...

Explanation:

Cotton was the "king" crop in the deep south, referred to as "white gold" thus making it worth a lot of money. With that being said, if you were one of the landowners of a cotton field, in simple terms you were racking out the dough! Most land owners of the time cotton or not were wealthy due to the high demand and need of farmers.
