5x - 1 = 15x - 101
101 - 1 = 15x - 5x
100 = 10x
100/10 = x
x = 10

How this has been solved is by bringing the equations with (x) to one side and solving them and solving the other numbers on the other side..

A rectangle has sides of 4x cm and x cm. the sides of the rectangle are all increased by the same length.if the perimeter of the
Verdich [7]

Answer:

 4 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

The perimeter of the original rectangle is ...

 P = 2(L+W) = 2(4x + x) = 10x

The perimeter of the larger rectangle after we add "a" to each side is ...

 P = 2(L +W)

 = 2((4x+a) +(x+a))

 = 10x +4a = 10x +16

 4a = 16 . . . . . subtract 10x from both sides

 a = 4 . . . . . . . divide by 4

The length added to each side is 4 cm.

there are 5 flag stamps and 11flower stamps in nichole 's stamp collection. what is the ratio of flower stamps to flag stamps?
Alik [6]
Ratios are simple if you know how. Simply put the two numbers next to each other with a : in between, then simplify.

Therefore, 5 flag stamps to 11 flower stamps has a ratio of 5:11. As both 5 and 11 are prime numbers, they cannot be simplified, so the answer is 5:11

mart [117]

Answer:

Her annual salary is $62,400

Step-by-step explanation:

Michelle Hong noticed that her gross pay per period increased by 2,800 when her employer changed from a bi weekly pay plan to a monthly pay plan.

Bi weekly is a check every 2 weeks, so she would get 26 checks per year.

Monthly would be 12 checks per year.

When she gets paid monthly her pay increased by $2,800 each check.

Let x be one bi-weekly paycheck.

The equation we get is:

12(x+2800) = 26x

Multiply the bracket by 12:

12x +33600 = 26x

Subtract 12x from both sides

33600 = 14x

Divide both sides by 14:

x = 33600/14

x = 2400

Her pay increased by 2800 each period:

2400 + 2800 = 5200 per check.

5200 x 12 months = 62400

Her annual salary is $62,400

Aliun [14]

Answer:

-10sin45+15cos60=Hor distance = 5.92 km

-10cos45+15sin60=ver distance = .429 km

resultant is sqrt(5.922+.4292)= 5.94 km at angle arctan(.429/5.92)= 1.77 degrees north of east
