I am just going to assume that the non-shaded box is a square, and tha its side lengths are equal to x.

A.
Area =  8^{2} - x^{2}
This is because the area of the shaded is the area of the bigger square minus the area of the smaller.

B.
Area = 8^{2} - x^{2}  \\ Area=8^{2}-3^{2} \\Area=55cm^{2}
This is found by just plugging in the value of x into the previous expression.

To test if x is a good predictor of y in Simple Linear Regression we need to determine whether:
I am Lyosha [343]

Option A is correct.

For testing, if x is a significant predictor of y in simple linear regression, we need to determine if the <u>slope </u><u>is </u><u>significantly different </u><u>from</u><u> zero</u>.

What is linear regression?

A statistical technique known as linear regression is used to represent the connection between a scalar answer and one or more explanatory factors. When there is just one explanatory variable, simple linear regression is employed; when there are numerous explanatory variables, multiple linear regression is utilized.

Based on the value of another variable, linear regression analysis makes predictions about the value of the first variable. The dependent variable is the one you're trying to forecast. The independent variable is the one you are utilizing to make a prediction about the value of the other variable.

Using the equation y = 3x – 5, what would the output be for an input of -4?
tino4ka555 [31]

Answer:

your question is really not clear but if you were to put the -4 in the Y then the answer would be X=1/3, if you plug in -4 for X and find Y then Y = -17

Step-by-step explanation:

plug in -4 in Y

-4=3x-5 add 5 on both sides,

1 = 3x divide 3 on both sides

1/3= x

plug in -4 in X

y = 3(-4)-5 multiply 3 and -4 = -12

y = -12-5 subtract the -12 and -5 = -17

y = -17
