The branches will depend on the country in question. Some have more than others. Some have them all merged into a single group. The predecessor of the coast guard was the Revenue Cutter Service. The Air Force came from the post World War 2 split of the Army and the Army Air Corps (the Air Corps becoming the Air Force). In Europe, the regions were mostly and vastly dominated by the abundant forest cover in the north and the west. Hence these areas have sparse population and have very slow pace to implement new ways. These areas also don’t have any fertile land that would help them to create a powerful kingdom. On the other hand, America has a different story. In this area there were not many animals that could carry loads. Hence the local communities produced only in limited amount and traded luxuries.
The major political parties are too similar on most issues to provide effective choices for voters.
It is the "legislative branch" that has been given the power to impeach the President of the United States, since the Founding Fathers wanted this to be a highly democratic process.
