Reasons I honestly know of:
- Christianity which I think is the most prevalent religion in America both are in it's golden stages. America is one of the world's powers , which may be what the religion Islam used to be.
- The USA is also influencing the world worldwide with Christianity creating a golden age for the religion ( sounds like the Golden Age of Islam).
In simple words I see the comparison as being both were influential in religion, beliefs, and their books ( The U.S often mentions the Bible while Islam the Quran.)

A very great question and the answer is yes. in 2003 or 2004 there was apparently cheating was found. the coach was found giving the football players cheating advice which they were taken out of the game. so this indicate that helmets should not let them communicate with there coaches. Its just wrong.
