Effective participation in group discussions requires some courtesy, among other things. In order to be heard, you need to hear, understand, acknowledge different opinions and then show your point of view. Without courtesy the debate doesn't happen, no one is satisfied with the discussion, and a lot of feelings can get hurt.

How attitude and conflict affect communication?
klemol [59]
Attitude and conflict effect communication in several ways. I have learned that when we reach conflict we have two options, resolution, or retaliation. People are reluctant to show forgiveness because they do not want to be hurt again. The main part of attitude within conflict that damages relationships is being a control communicator. But I have learned that people don't care how much you know untill they know how much you care. Attitude is everything in any relationship wanting to have effective communication. Sometimes we have to choose reolution to effectivley communicate, we are all human and have different perspcetives on life, no one is going to completely agree on everything so coming to acceptance the things which we cannot change is vital in communication and being effective in portraying it.
