Bonjour

do old buildings in France often have elevators ???

NO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

malheureusement pas !!!!!

Unfortunately not !!!

I live in Paris on the sixth floor, and there is no elevator !!

It's an old building, it's very narrow, and there's no room for an elevator !!! Only a stair !!!!!

In some old buildings from the Haussmann period (immeubles "Haussmanniens"), they did install elevators. Because these buildings are very wide and have high ceilings.

But many old buildings were before "des hôtels particuliers" which mean they were residences of wealthy family...

Some old buildings sometimes manage to have an elevator, but they are very narrow !!! Like only 2 or 3 persons can get into it !!

Answer:

The official Canadian flag was selected for the following reasons: The clarity and striking design made it easily recognizable. It used Canada's official national colors. The maple leaf had already become a popular emblem of Canadian national identity at home and abroad. It was first used as a national symbol in 1868 when it appeared on the coat of arms of both Ontario and Quebec.
