Let, price of fudge and gum is x and y respectively.

Converting given statements into mathematical equation.

We get :

5x + 3y = 5.70  ....1)

2x + 10y = 3.60 ....2)

Solving equation 1 and 2, we get :

x = $1.05 .

y = $0.15 .

Price of buying 20 pieces of fudge and 20 pieces of bubble gum is :

P = 20( 1.05 ) + 20( 0.15 )

P = $24

Hence, this is the required solution.

Nutka1998 [239]

Solving the expression  -\frac{1}{2}(10+\frac{1}{4}) we get -5-\frac{1}{8}

So, Option B is correct.

Step-by-step explanation:

We need to solve the expression -\frac{1}{2}(10+\frac{1}{4}) and find the equivalent expression

Solving:

-\frac{1}{2}(10+\frac{1}{4})

Multiply -1/2 with the terms inside the bracket:

=-\frac{1}{2}(10)-\frac{1}{2}(\frac{1}{4})\\=-\frac{10}{2}-\frac{1}{2*4}\\=-5-\frac{1}{8}

So, solving the expression  -\frac{1}{2}(10+\frac{1}{4}) we get -5-\frac{1}{8}

So, Option B is correct.

Ainat [17]
$20*39=  $780+$100=  $880
Subtract $314.23, and  $123 by $880
$880-$314.23-$123= $442.27
Divide $442.27 by 3.
$442.27/3 = $147.59
