In pea plants, round seeds are dominant and wrinkled seeds are recessive. A pea plant with round seeds was pollinated with a pea

plant with wrinkled seeds. The offspring produced round seeds. One of the offspring was mated with a pea plant with heterozygous genes for round seeds.
What are the chances that the offspring will have wrinkled seeds?

1/4.
Assume round gene as A and wrinkled gene as a.
First we can learn that plant with wrinkled seeds must has gene aa because gene a is recessive.
Because the offspring produces all round seeds, the gene of the offspring must be Aa.
The heterogeneous plant, literally, has gene Aa too.
So the seeds after mated should have 3 types: AA, Aa, aa and the ratio will be 1:2:1. the wrinkled seeds have gene aa, so the chance is 1/(1+2+1)=1/4.

krek1111 [17]

yes, Muscularis mucosa - The stomach and small intestine's mucosa are pulled into undulating folds by a thin layer of smooth muscle that is constantly tensed. The surface area that is available for digestion and absorption is significantly increased by these folds.

The submucosa is located directly beneath the mucosa, as its name suggests. It joins the underlying muscularis to the overlaying mucosa by way of a large layer of dense connective tissue. It has blood and lymphatic vessels (which carry nutrients that have been absorbed), as well as a few submucosal glands that secrete digestive juices. Additionally, it functions as a passageway for the submucosal plexus, a densely branched network of nerves.

These layers compress to encourage mechanical digestion, expose more of the food to the chemicals that aid in digestion, and transport the food along the canal.

Which of the following conclusions did Mendel form as a result of his observations?
katrin2010 [14]

Mendel made the conclusion from his observations on the garden pea plant that for each and every trait in a population, a pair of alleles are present i.e., dominant and recessive allele. Thus, the correct option is B.

What was Mendel's law?

Mendel did his experiments on the garden pea plant (pisum sativum) in which he found that for all the characters two different alleles are present in a population in which one allele is dominant on the other which is recessive. The dominant allele is represented by capital letter and is present in all the generations whereas the recessive allele is represented by small letter and often skips the generation.

Thus, by compiling the results of pea plants, Mendel concluded that the characteristics could be divided into two forms- expressed and latent traits. He called these traits as dominant and recessive traits, respectively.

Therefore, the correct option is B.

Why do steeper mountain slopes have faster rates of erosion by
rivers and streams?
rjkz [21]
Mountain slopes have faster erosion because it is easier for fast moving bodies of water to carry down eroded material downhill, rather than across flat land.
