They were a strength to the Union. They carried soldiers and supplies to the battlefront much quicker, from a few months' march to a week. Having the supplies quicker to the battleground gave the Union the advantage over the Confederates, since the Union could recover much faster from any loss.

Crank

The British began to colonize parts of Africa.

Explanation:

After the adventures of Livingston and Stanley in Africa, their adventures were printed out and made available to the general public. Lot of things that these two explorers discovered seemed very appealing for both the government and the people. Being at the peak of its power and wanting to keep that status, the British Empire started to make plans to colonize Africa.

Lot of things made Africa good region for colonization, such as the people being primitive, being significantly less developed, having abundance of resources, and opening up new market. Being technologically superior, the British were able to overcome the problems and conquer huge part of Africa, having colonies in all regions of the continent, except for Central Africa.

Some of the territories (modern day countries) that were conquered were:

  • South Africa
  • Zimbabwe
  • Zambia
  • Nigeria

Studying African history and politics gives us a deeper understanding of world history and especially of current events. For example, the profits the United States reaped from the trans-Atlantic slave trade jumpstarted our industrial revolution and laid the economic foundations of this nation.

A financial system is an area of the production, distribution, and trade, as well as consumption of goods and offerings. In standard, it's miles described as a social domain that emphasizes the practices, discourses, and material expressions related to the manufacturing, use, and control of scarce resources. A given financial system is a set of procedures that involves its tradition, values, training, technological evolution, records, social enterprise, political shape, legal systems, and natural sources as fundamental elements. Those elements deliver context, and content material, and set the conditions and parameters in which a financial system functions. In other words, the monetary domain is a social domain of interrelated human practices and transactions that doesn't stand by myself.
