Mexico was the place in which different pre-Columbian cultures developed, indeed Mexico is considered as a cradle of civilization as in it civilizations such as the Zapotec, Maya, Aztec, Toltec, and the Olmec began. Additionally, some of these civilizations built cities, towns or even complex structures such as temples or pyramids whose ruins can still be found nowadays. This includes the Chichen Itza Pyramid near Cancun, Teotihuacan pyramids, Ek Balam which includes the ruins of an ancient city, among others, Thus, it is true there are some ancient ruins to visit in Mexico.
