PLEASE HELP! Containment during the Cold War? I am doing a project and I need some help. I need to know about Containment during the Cold War. I need to know the purpose of Containment. I also need to know who had the idea of containment. Please help me. I would really appreciate it.

Containment was a policy goal devised by the US diplomat George Kennan. The Goal of the Containment policy was to stop the spread of Communism - to "Contain it".

This means that the US would intervene in countries who seemed to be about to adopt communism. The Korean and Vietnam wars were the result of this policy.
