America grew during the 1920's by Immigration and a powerful economy, becoming a world power in many regards. America was able to lend money to European nations, expand social programs and allow for many migrants to come into the United States. America also experienced rapid growth in the Industrial sector with many factories and innovations being designed.

Not sure if this answer is correct but im gonna make a educated guess but because the new land they had found had more resources and cheap labor and other benefits i would guess they didn't have to trade with other countries near by. Or maybe it increased trade because of the new products. Which ever you think makes the most sense. :>

Besides, the sentence added that slaves were legal property of the owners and it was protected by the Fifth Amendment. The US Supreme Court decision was a landmark decision that angered abolitionists and helped to mobilize them.  The sentence declared the Missouri Compromise legislation - a compromise between slavery and non-slavery states -  unconstitutional . Beyond the legal nuances of the language it meant that Congress wasn’t empowered to impede the spread of slavery.
