For many years I have traveled in many parts of the world. In America I live in New York, or dip into Chicago or San Francisco.

But New York is no more America than Paris is France or London is England. Thus I discovered that I did not know my own country. I, an American writer, writing about America, was working from memory, and the memory is at best a faulty, warpy reservoir. I had not heard the speech of America, smelled the grass and trees and sewage, seen its hills and water, its color and quality of light. I knew the changes only from books and newspapers. But more than this, I had not felt the country for twenty-five years. The author most frequently uses to support his purpose of informing the reader of his past.

Explanation:

In his Travels With Charley in Search of America, the author John Steinbeck presents a vast descriptive narrative of how he viewed America, the America that he had not set foot on for so many years. This travelogue that he undertook with his poodle across the American nation after he felt so out of touch with his own country. After being inspired by the many American writers whose works he had read, and also out of his desire to know more about the country his works are based on.

The given passage is a descriptive support for the purpose of informing the readers of his past.

The scientific method is a process of rational thought and common sense. True or false.
Katen [24]
This is false.

It is false because a scientific method is a lot more complex and has many steps which need to be fulfilled for it to be valid. Rationality and common sense are not enough for something to be scientific as sometimes something can be irrational or almost nonsensical and yet scientific.
