Rome's location and government helped it become a major power of the ancient world because of these factors:

-Surrounded by water

-Surrounded by mountains

-Surrounded by the Sahara Desert

______________________________________________________

Explanations:

The reason why being surrounded by water helped it become a major power of the ancient world is because they had a lot of trading opportunities. When people cross the Mediterranean sea, they end up stopping by at Rome, and trading many valuable things with them. The trades the the Roman's got were rich in value, which made the economy richer.

The reason why being surrounded by mountains helped it become a major power of the ancient world was because it gave them protection. The mountains in Rome were up north, where other empires settled. The mountains were really tall, which made it tricky for other empires to come and raid them because it was so much work getting over the mountains. Because of that, the Romans were safe.

The reason why being surrounded by the Sahara desert helped it become a major power of the ancient world because it also gave Rome protection from other empires. The Sahara desert was really hot and was a pain to get across with an army, it would be very tiring. Because of where Rome is located, people that had to cross the Sahara desert didn't want to go through it because it is very hard. And that's what led to Rome being even more safe.

Why was Wilson against having secret treaties
zimovet [89]
Wilson believed that fundamental flaws in international relations created an unhealthy climate that led inexorably to the World War. His 14 points outlined his vision for a safer world. Wilson called for an end to secret diplomacy, a reduction of armaments, and freedom of the seas. He claimed that reductions to trade barriers, fair adjustment of colonies, and respect for national self-determination would reduce economic and nationalist sentiments that lead to war.
