How have the drug cartels affected the government in Colombia?

History

Answer:

After over half a century of fighting, Colombia has put an end to the longest internal armed conflict in the region. Yet even as the peace process moves forward, violence against community activists and minority groups continues at an alarming rate.

Because indigenous and Afro-Colombians bear the brunt of this violence, it is the fate of these communities that will determine whether Colombia can achieve a lasting peace. WOLA advocates for policies that defend these communities, for the full implementation of Colombia’s peace accords, and for U.S. aid to move beyond a military focus in order to effectively address the country’s post-peace challenges.

*40 PTS. FOR WHOEVER ANSWERS THIS FOR ME! PLEASE HELP!*

Black militancy hurt the cause of civil rights more than it helped it because it uncovered feelings that were not there before, or were hidden. People weren't thinking about black rights after the war so when black militancy became a topic of discussion, people's feelings started to be made known. Riots broke out and aggression was hard to keep under control.
That's all I have, sorry hope it helps some!
