well, the rolling stones had influenced hard rock and influenced more modern rock bands such as led zeppelin, and jumping foward a few decades, Muse, Nirvana, and in modern day, Panic! at the disco.
while on the other hand The Beatles had influenced soft rock, and became very famous for it!
