According to a national survey of asthma: On May 1, 2010, the number of residents of Oklahoma who had been diagnosed with asthma
ICE Princess25 [194]

Answer:

(C/B) x 100,000

Explanation:

It is given that

According to a national survey of asthma:

"A" is the number of citizens of Oklahoma who had suffered from asthma during their life as on May 1, 2010.

"B" is the population on June 30, 2010.

And "C" is the number of new cases registered for asthama in the same year that is in the year 2010.

Thus the incidence rate per 100,000 of asthma is expressed as (C/B) x 100,000

That is the ratio of new cases registered for asthama inthe year 2010 to the population of Oklahoma in the year 2010 multiplied by 100,000.

Thus the answer is (C/B) x 100,000

What is the role of interferon in defense against disease?
umka21 [38]
Interferon are small proteins (cytokines) that enhance the immune system and defense against viruses and bacterial infections.
Interferon stimulates the infected cells and those nearby to produce proteins. These proteins prevent the virus from replicating within them. Further production of the virus is inhibited and the infection is stemmed.
There are three types of interferon: gamma, alpha and beta. Alpha and beta can be produced from any cell, and gamma is produced only by natural killer cells and T lymphocytes. The main purpose of gamma interferon is to signal the immune system to respond to infectious agents or cancerous growth.
