History
1 answer:

Joseph II of Austria, and emperor of the Holy Roman empire, can be considered as an enlightened despot because:

 • he was recognized by his contemporary fellow monarchs as a highly cultured man, in contrast with many monarchs prior to him who took no interest in learning and knowledge; he used his culture as an instrument to become a better ruler
 • he abolished servitude in his empire, an institution he believed anachronistic and unfair
 • he managed to do away with the political participation of the Catholic Church in the government and its business since he deemed the role of the Church was a spiritual one, not a secular one
 • he sponsored the arts (especially music which he enjoyed most) and commissioned one of the greatest musicians of all times, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart with the composition of several pieces of music, mostly operas
 • he carried out educational reforms
 • in a time of religious intolerance, he allowed his subjects to profess the religion of their choice and protected them with laws

During the tenure of James Monroe, the 5th us president, the country acquired Florida and Maine and warned Europe to forget about interfering in the Americas. President James Monroe said no European power should, in the future, try to establish a colony anywhere in the Americas, further noting that the political system of the European powers was somewhat different from that of the Americas.

Monroe declared any effort to extend this European system to any of the Americas would endanger the peace and safety of the United States.

What were the characteristics of the plains indian culture
ratelena [41]

Answer:

The Plains Indians were hunters and agriculturalists, they hunted large animals like bison and planted crops such as beans, squash, and corn. Due to being dependent upon hunting, the Plains Indians were nomadic and would easily set up their teepee housing units wherever they went. Several tribes would perform the Sun Dance which is a ritual of sacrifice for the benefit of the community. As the horse was introduced to the tribes that helped in hunting and movement, it would begin to create competition among the different tribes.

How did the Lebanon War impact the world?
kirza4 [7]

Answer:

Lebanese Civil War, civil conflict (1975–90) in Lebanon emanating from the deterioration of the Lebanese state and the coalescence of militias that provided security where the state could not. These militias formed largely along communal lines: the Lebanese Front (LF), led by the Phalangists (or Phalange), represented Maronite Christian clans whose leaders had dominated the traditional elite class of the country’s sociopolitical fabric; the Lebanese National Movement (LNM), a coalition of secular leftists and Sunni Muslims sympathetic to Arab nationalism; the Amal (“Hope,” also an acronym for Afwāj al-Muqāwamah al-Lubnāniyyah [Lebanese Resistance Detachments]) movement, comprising Shiʿi populists; and the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), which represented Lebanon’s large Palestinian refugee population. Other participants in the war included Syria, Israel, and splintered contingents of the Lebanese Army.
