The correct answer is C) John Rolfe developed a way to grow a crop that was well matched to the aptitude of the colonists.

The reason that describes why the Jamestown colony succeded was that John Rolfe developed a way to grow a crop that was well matched to the aptitude of the colonists.

The Jamestown colony was the first established in the Americas. It was established in May 1607 and was named in honor of King James. The colony prospered due to the tobacco plantations and their great crops. John Rolfe had brought some seeds of tobacco form the Caribbean island of Trinidad and he started to grow tobacco crops that were exported to England. Tobacco leaf was more grey and bitter that the tobacco grew in Europe, so it was well accepted. That is why tobacco in Virginia was the king.
