What is the function of a transitive verb

English
1 answer:
Luba_88 [7]3 years ago

The function of a transitive verb is to demonstrate the action that the subject is taking on the predicate. For example, in the sentence "Tommy ate an apple", the transitive verb is the word 'ate', and it is showing us what Tommy did to the apple.
There are also intransitive verbs, that demonstrate action being taken by the subject, even when there is no predicate being acted upon. For example, take the sentence "Tommy ran to the store". There is no predicate that the verb 'ran' is acting on, but we still know that Tommy ran somewhere, and the adverbial prepositional phrase 'to the store' tells us where Tommy ran.
Hope that helped! =)

Which nonfiction genre instructs or teaches the reader how to do something? how-to history humor biography
Aloiza [94]

Answer:

The correct answer is How-To.

Explanation:

The non-fiction genre proposes a writing that excludes the fictitious and works with documentary material without being realistic, emphasizes the montage and the way of organizing the material, rejects the concept of verisimilitude as an illusion of reality, as an attempt to make believe that the text conforms to reality and can faithfully reflect the facts.

Inside it we can find the How-To Genre. As their name indicates, here we can find texts that explain how to do something. They contain a step by step with each of the things that we must do certain specific tasks.

An example of this would be a book that teaches you to repair an appliance.

Crank

The details included in the first paragraph of the poem titled -  The Garden by Andrew Marvell, communicate the narrators' interest in enjoying nature, especially around plants.

<h3>What is the key thought in The Garden?</h3>

The writer indicates that man after all his pursuit is done, should always come back to the serene, peaceful, and satisfying company of nature or a garden.

In what capacity or what specific contributions could you provide when typhoons hit your community
krek1111 [17]

Answer:

Look at the explanation

Explanation:

When a typhoon hits your community, it's most important to first provide them food and water, so they don't starve/dehydrate to death. It would be best to make sure the food is nutritious and the water is clean. Next, with typhoons comes damage, and that damage can include people. If you know how to do first aid, grab a first aid kit and treat minor wounds of your community members. When the wounds are severe, call 911 and take them to the hospital. Lastly, you should provide emotional support! Getting hit by a typhoon is definitely a traumatic and stressful moment that can cause PTSD, so try to comfort anyone you see.

Have a lovely rest of your day/night, and good luck with your assignments! ♡

alexira [117]
The second choice would be correct (B) because compare means to find similarities and a contrast/to contrast something means to focus on their difference by definition. Hope this helped :)
