Bess [88]
Have the unknown amount = x
so 3x : 9x
you know how many kids meals were bought is equal to the ratio (3x = 12, so x=4)
you already know how many X's for the adults (9) so just multiply (9x4= 36)
lastly add since you need to find the total meals bought (36+12= 48)

Find the zeros of the function.
vlabodo [156]
The answer is
f(x) = 9x3 + 18 x2 - 135x can be written as f(x) = x( 9x2+ 18 x - 135)
the first zero must be = 0
let's find the another zeros by solving 9x2+ 18 x - 135=0
f(-5)=135-135=0, so the answer is

0, -5, and 3

because f(x) = 9x3 + 18 x2 - 135x =x (x+5)(x-3)

Can someone help me with 5 and 6?
Lemur [1.5K]
Sine = (opposite)/(hypotenuse). Cosine = (adjacent)/(hypotenuse). Tangent = (opposite)/(adjacent). Fill in the numbers. They're all on the drawing . Then memorize these definitions. You'll need them as long as you're in school, and possibly after.

VMariaS [17]
I assume you mean:
3x^2 -5xy + 5y^2.

Simply substitute the given values into the equation:

3(-6)^2 - 5(-6)(2) + 5(2)^2

=188
