The main way in which the new railroads benefited western cattle ranchers is that they allowed them to move cattle at a much faster and more efficient rate--instead of relying on the cattle drive.

The railroads benefited western cattle ranchers because they helped the cowboys not ride for weeks straight up from the south to the north. This also put an end the open range system.

What U.S president kept two crocodiles as pets
antiseptic1488 [7]
Well, in the first place, they weren't actually crocodiles but alligators. The difference of the two would be that crocodiles are more on the seawater and alligators favor the freshwater. They also have a difference in their head shape where crocodiles are much more like a V-shape rather than the alligators that usually have a U-shape look. Their appearance would also be an indicator since crocodiles are lighter in color where alligators are darker. The US president that kept two alligators as pets would be the 31st president of the United States which is Herbert Clark Hoover.
