Answer:

The Sumerian city-states maintained most of their conflict among cities calling free men to battle when it was needed.

Explanation:

In order to protect the city-states from their rivals the Sumerians called upon every free men to battle. It is important to add that they did not have an standing army, therefore,  there was no permanent military to defend the people. Each city-state had its own God and when conflicts arose the high priest and the King called upon the free men to forge their own weapons for battle. While they did have a few trained soldiers the majority was the population. They distinguished the trained military with the use of copper helmets. Furthermore, some conflicts arose due to the water canal developed by them. Some believed to have more control over it than others and blocked it for the water not to flow to other communities this was solved by the creation of a wall around the city. Among the weapons forged by the Sumerian free men were:

  • Knives
  • Bows
  • Slingshots
  • Axes
  • Among others.

Finally, the Sumerians attributed the fate of a battle to their Gods rather than to its priest.

Impact of desertification in africa
sammy [17]
Desertification has led to limited necessary goods like water and crop reduction. This resulted in the Arab Spring, an uprising in North Africa, particularly Tunisia, where the price of bread became too unaffordable.

What would most likely cause geographic isolation?
cestrela7 [59]
Geographic isolation could be caused by a number of environmental factors. If a population of people or species live on an island, amongst mountains, in difficult to navigate terrain, or deep into rainforest or forests generally these groups could experience geographic isolation. Geographic largely occurs if a population or group of people or animals live in a remote region of the world that has little access to others due to any number of geographic features.

What was a main idea behind the American Revolutionary War?
lord [1]

Answer:

Multiple causes took place that eventually caused many colonists to go against Great Britain.

Explanation:

By 1774, the year leading up to the Revolutionary War, there were many causes that continued to pile up. Parliament had been passing laws placing taxes on the colonists in America. There had been the Sugar Act in 1764, the Stamp Act the following year, and a variety of other laws that were meant to get money from the colonists for Great Britain. The colonists didn't like these laws.

Great Britain was passing these laws because of the French and Indian War, which had ended in 1763. That war, which had been fought in North America, left Great Britain with a huge debt that had to be paid. Parliament said it had fought the long and costly war to protect its American subjects from the powerful French in Canada. Parliament said it was right to tax the American colonists to help pay the bills for the war.

Most colonists disagreed. Parliament was elected by people living in England, and the colonists felt that lawmakers living in England could not understand the colonists' needs. The colonists felt that since they did not take part in voting for members of Parliament in England they were not represented in Parliament. So Parliament did not have the right to take their money by imposing taxes. "No taxation without representation" became the American rallying cry.
