Answer:

The total area that is painted yellow is 930\ in^{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

The area of the outside of the box is equal to the surface area of the box minus the area of the top

The area of the outside is

A=B+PH

where

B is the area of the base

P is the perimeter of the base

H is the height of the box

<em>Find the area of the base B</em>

B=(18)(15)=270\ in^{2}

<em>Find the perimeter of the base P</em>

P=2(18+15)=66\ in

we have

H=10\ in

substitute the values

A=270+(66)10=930\ in^{2}

Suppose that the terminal side of angle alphaα lies in Quadrant I and the terminal side of angle betaβ lies in Quadrant IV. If s
melamori03 [73]

Solution :

It is given that :

$\alpha$ lies in the first quadrant.

And $\beta$ lies in the fourth quadrant.

Since, $\sin \alpha = \frac{5}{13}$     and $\cos \beta = \frac{6}{\sqrt{85}}$    (given)

$\sin \alpha = \frac{5}{13}$

$\cos \alpha = \sqrt{1-\sin^2 \alpha}$

   $\cos \alpha = \frac{12}{13}$

Similarly  $\cos \beta = \frac{6}{\sqrt{85}}$

$\sin \beta = \sqrt{1-\cos^2 \beta}$

$\sin \beta = \sqrt{1-\frac{36}{85}}$

     $-\frac{7}{\sqrt{85}}$      (IVth quadrant)

Therefore,

$\cos (\alpha + \beta) = \cos \alpha \cos \beta - \sin \alpha \sin \beta$

                 $=\frac{12}{13}\times \frac{6}{\sqrt{85}}-\frac{5}{13}\times \frac{-7}{\sqrt{85}}$

                $= \frac{107}{13 \sqrt{85}}$

a crane lifts a pallet of concrete blocks 7 ft from the back of the truck . the truck driver away and the crane lowers the palle
n200080 [17]

Answer:

4 ft down as per the image attached.

5 ft down as per the question statement.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that:

A Pallet of concrete blocks is at the back of a truck.

The pallet is lifted by the crane to a height of 8 ft (as per image attached ) or 7 ft (as per question statement) and then the truck moves forward.

Now, the pallet is lowered down to a distance of 12 ft.

To find:

The final position of the pallet relative to the position from the back of the truck?

Solution:

If we closely look at the figure attached, it can be interpreted that the pallet is taken 8 feet above and then 12 feet down.

Therefore, if we subtract 8 feet from 12 feet, we will have our answer.

So, the position of the pallet with respect to its position in the truck is =

12 ft - 8 ft = <em>4 ft down</em>.

If we consider the question statement:

12 ft - 7 ft = <em>5 ft down</em>

Rudik [331]

Answer:

B

Step-by-step explanation:

It's B

First we multiply the coefficients. 6*3= 18, so we can immediately cross out A and D. Now, c^2 * c is c^3. So, its B.

Hope this helps !!

Train a is 14 mph slower than train B. Train A travels 220 miles in the same time train B travels 290 miles. Find the speed of b
djverab [1.8K]
Recall your d = rt, distance = rate * time

if say train B has a speed of "r", then A has a speed of "r-14".

now, they each travelled those miles in the same time, say "t" hours.

\bf \begin{array}{lccclll}&#10;&\stackrel{miles}{distance}&\stackrel{mph}{rate}&\stackrel{hours}{time}\\&#10;&-----&---&----\\&#10;\textit{Train A}&220&r-14&t\\&#10;\textit{Train B}&290&r&t&#10;\end{array}&#10;\\\\\\&#10;\begin{cases}&#10;220=t(r-14)\\&#10;290=rt\implies \frac{290}{r}=\boxed{t}\\&#10;----------\\&#10;220=\boxed{\frac{290}{r}}(r-14)&#10;\end{cases}&#10;\\\\\\&#10;220=\cfrac{290(r-14)}{r}\implies 220r=290r-4060\implies 4060=70r&#10;\\\\\\&#10;\cfrac{4060}{70}=r\implies 58=r

how fast is Train A?  well, r - 14.
